High Voltage accessories from Nexans have acquired a leading position in the world market for the high voltage power cables and offers a complete range of high voltage cable accessories suitable for underground or submarine cables with either paper or polymeric insulation for AC or DC applications. A complete range of terminations, joints and the related accessories for XLPE, EPR and all types of paper insulated cables up to 550 kV.
Sealing ends from 60 kV up to 500kV, sealing ends for outdoor or GIS applications are available with either EPDM or silicone pre-molded rubber stress cones, suitable for oil or SF6 filling. Insulators exist in porcelain, epoxy and composite fiberglass and silicone with a special design for explosion proof applications. A dry type termination in silicone rubber is available up to 145 kV.
- Joints
Beside our range of taped joints up to 132 kV and a range of joints for paper insulated cables and transitions from paper to polymer insulated cables, Nexans Cable supplies a complete range of factory tested pre-molded EPDM or silicone rubber joints up to 500 kV both in standard or shieldbreak version for cross-bonding. Different types of outer joint covers to suit various customer requirements are also available. These can be heat-shrinkable, synthetic tubes or a plain metallic cover with external sheathing.
- Earthing
All equipment like earthing rods, single and three phase outdoor, indoor and underground cabinets, cross-bonding boxes can be supplied on request
- Pressure control equipment
Pressure control cabinets with alarm devices are available together with all accessories for oil or SF6 pressurized installations. Other equipment such as surge arrestors, cable temperature monitoring, etc..., are also available.
- Installation
With the cable and the accessories, designed to the latest state of the art, Nexans can offer a wide range of services, this starts from installation supervision to complete turn-key projects including commissioning of all HV and EHV cable transmission links and networks. For submarine cable projects, Nexans employs specialized transport and laying vessels equipped with highly sophisticated seabed trenching and cable laying machinery.

In the development of products and services, Nexans Cable uses advanced high voltage test laboratories equipped with the latest appliances for electrical testing of any type of component. Further, a number of material research laboratories within the group bring together the disciplines of metallurgy, instrumental and chemical analysis as well as the electro-technical testing of materials, models and polymeric technology.
