Applications
Steel armoured dynamic cables are used in a number of diff e rent dynamic applications, such as inspection of submarine topography and geology, subsea oil- and gas installations, exploration and ROV umbilicals. The cables are tailored for each specific application either according to customer specification or on basis of input of operational requirements.
Design
- Signal - electrical: pairs or quads can be included for electrical signalling.
- Signal - optical: a selection of max 12 SM/MM optical fibres protected by a laserwelded steel tube.
- Signal - electrical: Coaxial cables can be included for video transmission or electrical signalling.
- Shield: copper Laminate shield in combination with earth conductors make up electrical screens to prevent electrical induced noice between different layers.
- Power Supply: a multiplum of power conductors of varying size from 0.82 to 35mm2 is included to accomdate power tranfer to motors and intrumentation. The voltage rating can be up to 4.5kV.
- Inner Sheath: a layer of thermoplatic elastomer is applied to the core. Protects the cable core and enables easy term ination.
- Armouring: 2 or more layers of Galfan coated high strength steels wires make up to amour. The armour is designed to make the cable free of torsion.
