BS 5308-Part 1/Type 3 Individual & Collective Screen Flame retardant Applications

These instrumentation and communication cables are used to transmit analogue or digital signals in measurement and process control. They are well adapted to underground use in industrial applications, in moist areas, where chemical and mechanical protections are needed. The lead sheath brings an enhanced resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons. The individual screning of each pair limits the consequence of crosstalk.

Description

Design

Conductor: Solid, stranded or flexible bare copper.

Insulation: PE (polyethylene)

Individual screen: Tinned copper drain wire, aluminium/polyester tape

Tape: Polyester

Binder tape: Polyester

Collective screen: Tinned copper drain wire, aluminium/polyester tape

Bedding (inner sheath): PVC (polyvinyl chloride)

Lead sheath (alloy)

Bedding: PVC (polyvinyl chloride),

Armour: Galvanized steel wires (SWA)

Outer sheath: PVC (polyvinyl chloride), UV resistant. Colour: black. Other colour on request.

Marking

NEXANS 279 year construction  300/500V n x S mm² + metric marking. Other marking on request.

Core identification

According to BS 5308 Part.1 (section 2) paragraph 8. Other colour on request.

Standards

Other fire performances IEC 60332-3 Cat A or C on request.
