To carry diverse power and control/communications between cars, Nexans produces a complete range of custom-designed jumpers containing single and multicore, screened and unscreened, jacketed or unjacketed cables in class 6 conductor designs.
Special data jumpers can incorporate coaxial cables for video or Internet connections, or optical fiber and Wire Train Bus (WTB) and Multifunction Vehicle Bus, or Ethernet (MVB) cables for the Train Communication Network.
For optimum flexibility and safety, Nexans has developed a highly flexible silicone-rubber insulated sheathing white low smoke and zero halogen, and adequate fire properties. Nexans jumpers use a special construction and material for high flexibility, strength and durability (over one million cycles).In order to guarantee these properties, Nexans has developed its own test equipment.
Each jumper cable is tested to simulate all specific movements endured during operation. The complex movements are controlled on two horizontal and perpendicular axes and can be customized according to specific client needs.
